Dead Cells is an incredibly satisfying mishmash of genres that’s more than the sum of its parts.

3:00 I feel like this implies there’s a stealth mechanic that causes enemies not to notice you if you simply open the doors; there isn’t. However, rolling through a door stuns any enemy in the room close to the door, giving you an easy hit and if you’re using the Nutcracker, a crit.

ANYONE ON MOBILE: keep in mind that despite how it specifically claims in the description of mobile that you’re getting the “full Dead Cells”, the mobile version is not, in fact, the full game. They don’t have some features I was specifically interested in it for, and how can you trust a game when there’s an outright and obvious lie in the description?

I traded in Sekiro for this on a whim. I'm shocked to say this, but I think I had more fun in the first couple hours of Dead Cells than I did in my entire playthrough of Sekiro.

I love this game, but I don’t like the fact that when I died you have to start all over. Here is one TRICK, when you died immediately press the home button, then system options and refresh. Then start any other game, almost when you have the Game menu. And start the Dead Cells again

The game play looks great, but why are we seeing new games with such cheesy looking visuals with today's hardware?

Yes odd game! After beating the game and finding there is more to do and story to find I got all excited… Wow my head comes off… What will that unlock!…. Oh almost nothing. But I'm now realising there's not much more and the story kind of just repeats stuff over and over. Great game but really feels unfinished now… So many useless items and tactics only a restart would enable selection of only the best items which I won't be doing 🙁 … And so many stories going on with no answers or ends in sight. But like I say well done just an odd ending to it all!

Most over rated game in recent history. It's not all that good. Guacamelee and The Messenger are way better. Enter the Gungeon is also way better. I've been playing Metroidvanias since the 1980s at least with Wonderboy in Monsterland and Faxanadu. Then, in the 90s, I played the grand daddy of these games in Super Metroid and Symphony of the Night. Trust me, this game is nowhere near as good as those. This game is way over rated.

I bought this game a week ago. It's nice.. really impressive in deed. The only thing I don't like is starting over again after dying.. I wish I could start from a different level if I want or a type of fast travel (teletransport between levels)

Dark Souls and Metroid….really? Would have made a billion times more sense bringing up Mark of Ninja, Strider, and Bastion…

But I guess since those aren't big budget names, GameSpot couldn't be bothered to use them…..lame A.F.
