Please note that this guide was made during Early-Access Astroneer, so new save files and folders will look different. However, you are still able to backup, store, and share the files the same way as before.
After hearing a lot of stories about players losing progress in their games, I decided to make this guide showing you how I avoid those problems. This video should help you utilize Astroneer’s save system more efficiently. I hope this will help you backup your saves and prevent loss of progress, and I hope you’ll take the chance to share your game saves with your friends or other members of the Astroneer community!

Keep in mind that this is for the steam version of astroneer, and there are entirely different systems in place for the xbox and windows 10 versions.

I have an issue when i open my save it loads till the middle then it freezes and my game closes.Pls help
lmao when i get into the saves folder its chrome symbols is that why i cant use them in game or?

i use cygwin and make symlinks like gamename_profile in cygwin-homedir to easy navigate around for games and other progs. i use the letter e as alias to quick open windows explorer with current dir.
also made alias fp to output filePath (unix/linux format)
and
fpw to output the path to file in windows format
(that way i can copy paste a long path to a file easy into a file open dialog in a windows program)
alias e="explorer ." ( put in ~/.bashrc ( i use zsh so in ~/.zshrc ) )
alias fp="readlink -f"
fpw() { cygpath.exe -w "$(readlink -f "$1")"; }

thank you for this tuto m8 pity i didn't read it before … the last time i play . the solar system crash (no more rotation….) so i don't have day and night working anymore !!!! and off corse it crash when my base was on the dark side of the planet….
