This tutorial is very well made and pleasant but you made a mistake at setup : you shuffle the A and B decks before giving 8 cards to players. In game it make a huge difference cause you start with a "master builder" (a B card) which is the more powerful card of the game. Thanks for all your playthrough, I take a lot of pleasure to watch it and making my English better (I'm French). Fab
Great tutorial, thanks. Also a really fun and interesting game!
Thank you. You made the game and teaching the game to others so easy.
When doing the green combat a little before 39:43 you gave green 7 combat strength which you arrived at by adding the 3 bonus and the 4 from the ship. England had 0 strength from the card. After doing the resolutions green should only have 1 strength left not 2. Good play through thank you
Fantastic!! This made learning this game so much better!!
Hello, this is the first of your videos I’ve watched. Great job! Thanks very much, having set up the game a read of the Rules seemed quite daunting. I think I can jump right in now. Fantastic work, stay safe.
Wow Jon! You just lured me into heavier games after watching this very digestible play through! Well done!!
Very good video. Thank you 👍
Keep thinking of this game since watching your play-through. Going to try and order it, thanks!
Jon, that was brilliant, absolutely superb. I think that may be the best tutorial you've done. Don't worry about the length.
Don't know how I missed this when you first uploaded it – I've watch 95%+ of everything you've ever done. I watched another channel playing his and just didn't understand what was going on, but here, everything was super clear. Again, great job!
Thank you very much for the explanation. It seems harder than GWT, at first sight many more things
At 38:38 the green player engaged in combat. The combat card said if the 3rd place country is chosen the player gets +3 combat. France and Spain had 1 & England had none. So England was chosen so the green player could receive the extra +3 combat. However, since France & Spain each have 1 wouldn’t they be tied for first place and England would be in second place. Which means there is no Country in 3rd place? Right…or wrong?
Amazing job with this tutorial! Thanks!
Awesome explanation. Super helpful. Period.
Hey Jon, Great run through. Did you go through this first round really quickly as a tutorial or was this "normal"? No one hit the villages or a few of the other cities. Just wondering.
Super video. Thanks!
You outdid yourself once again, Jonathan! I'm thinking event lighting falls a little short of your talent =) The albeit few dislikes is a mystery to me.
I just wanted to say thank you for making these videos. It is super helpful to watch you actually play these games and as multiple players no less! I just pre-ordered a copy of Maracaibo. Can't wait to play! 😁
Jon gets it
Great Western trail, oh my goods and mombasa in one viedo 😀
Thanks Jon!
Absolutely outstanding explanation and play through. Truthfully, I have watched other rules explanations and playthroughs and came away confused. I can’t imagine how much work you put into this. THANK YOU!
Jon I always enjoy your videos and love the ways you break down games to their essence for easy digestion while simultaneously playing them. The skip ahead links are especially helpful. Keep up the awesome job!
You are awesome ! Absolutely the best playthrough videos !
What a weird choice to use laser looking things on the board to show you're going deeper into the jungle. Why not use ancient ruins instead?
21:18 – This shot created a Magic Eye effect for me. The crown card looks like it's popping out of the screen.
Your fantastic video will be very usefull to many gamers. I appreciate it a lot. Thank you very much, Jon!!
Wow Jon, Best rules and play through I have seen on this. Easy to understand the mechanics. Thanks. Now looking for it to add to the library.
